Central Bank of Libya, RTGS system
Central Bank of Libya, RTGS System
Central Bank of Libya (CBL) launched Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system into live production mode in April 2008. The system is based on CMA’s RTS/X solution.
Agathon Systems of Libya was the prime contractor with CBL for the National Payment System project, whereas CMA acted as a sub-contractor. CMA had installed and customized the solution as well as provided training and support during the system implementation.
Total number of system participants was 6 state banks. CBL intended to make the system available to all the commercial banks in Libya. System configuration consisted of five Windows operated business-logic servers and AIX servers working with the Oracle database. Participants were carrying out their operations via private network (SWIFT network was used as a backup solution).
RTS/X also provided the interfaces for the exchange with General Ledger, Automated Clearing House and Liquidity management systems.
Status: The system went into live operation in April 2008
