The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) launched the Real Time Gross Settlement System in 2005 as a part of the national project "Electronic Oman". The project's goal was to develop and implement an automated system of real-time collection and processing of large payments. Access to the system is provided via the dedicated network providing.
In January 2012 CBO has performed an infrastructure upgrade of RTGS solution to the latest version of Oracle. In addition to that CBO had implemented additional features, including PvP processing, advanced business day management, and additional reporting.
